Privacy Policy

GymBuddy is an AI fitness coach you text over iMessage. It is operated by Tyrese Chatman. This policy explains what information GymBuddy collects, why it collects it, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

• Profile info — your name, phone number, age, height, weight, goals, and any fitness history, limits, or injuries you share while setting up.
• Your messages and photos — everything you send to GymBuddy: texts, food photos, workout videos, and progress photos.
• Activity logs — workouts, food/macro logs, weigh-ins, and chat history.
• Payment info — handled entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation and your name after a payment; we never see or store your card number.
• Website analytics — when collection is enabled, page visits, selected UTM campaign tags, the referring site or app (for example, Instagram), device type (phone or desktop), time spent on the page, how far you scroll, walkthrough progress, button and checkout-link clicks, an anonymous browser-session ID, and an anonymous random browser ID stored on your device so a repeat visit can be counted as returning. We do not store a name, phone number, raw IP address, or message content in the analytics records.

2. How we use it

• To coach you: personalized training, nutrition, and recovery advice.
• To log and track your progress over time.
• To process photos (food photos → macro estimate; workout videos → form check).
• To understand which campaign links lead to GymBuddy page visits, checkout clicks, and completed subscriptions.
• To run, maintain, and improve the service.

3. Third parties

• Stripe — payments and billing. Card data is subject to Stripe's own privacy policy, never ours.
• AI providers — messages and photos are sent to trusted third-party AI providers (and the models they run) to generate responses. The specific providers and models in use can change from time to time; on any material change we'll update this policy, and such a change may affect response quality, speed, or cost.
• Apple / iMessage — the messaging transport GymBuddy rides on.

4. Storage & security

GymBuddy customer records are stored locally on Tyrese's Mac. Anonymous website event records are stored separately in a private analytics database hosted on Cloudflare and are retained for 180 days. Reasonable safeguards are in place, but no service or internet-connected system is 100% secure.

5. No selling, no ads

We do not sell your data, and we do not run third-party ads. Your data is used only to run and improve GymBuddy.

6. Retention

GymBuddy customer data is kept while you remain a user and deleted when you request it. Anonymous website analytics events are automatically deleted after 180 days.

7. Your choices & rights

• Delete your data — text "delete my data" to GymBuddy (or reach Tyrese directly) and your information will be removed.
• Cancel anytime — cancel your subscription by texting "cancel" to GymBuddy.
• Ask questions — reply to any GymBuddy message with "ty-" at the start and it routes to Tyrese, or contact him directly.

8. Children

GymBuddy is for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here, and material changes will be shared through the service.
